To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the moment that John Hurts ruptured-tummy changed horror history forever, The Prince Charles Cinema is showcasing 1986's Aliens in all its 70mm glory at 8:45pm.
If that's a little too close to din dins for your liking, you should catch When Marnie Was There at 6:25pm the next day - a Rotten Tomatoes-approved Japanese anime based on Joan G.Robinson's Norfolk-based novel of the same name.
Gaze at some masterpieces

David Hockney is Britain's greatest living painter. A bona fide mac daddy who, at 78 years-old, still continues to make his inimitable mark on the art world (as well as the pages of Esquire).
'David Hockney RA: 82 Portraits and One Still-Life' is a pretty self-explanatory collection that is being showcased at The Royal Academy of Art, Mayfair. Get on down and pay homage.
Become a smartphone Spielberg
When: Tuesday 12th July, 2pm
Where: The Institute of Contemporary Arts
So you want to be a Vine star, but you're not a brain-gnawingly irritating man-child? Hmm. Sounds like you're out of luck there, mate.
But the least you could do is take some tips from some smartphone filmmaking dons. Head over to ICA for the 'Eye Want Change Workshop', where they'll teach you how to storyboard, frame and edit your ideas using just your smartphone.
Meet your childhood crush

Where: the ExCel Centre
This week sees London ExCel host the 'Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016', where thousands of spacelubbers are gathering to pretend that the years 1998 – 2005 never actually happened.
The majority of the original main cast will be there, and meet-and-greet photo sessions can be purchased now. There's Mark Hamill (£145), Boba Fett (£40) and of course, the star of that photo your dad hid in his sock drawer, Carrie Fisher.
Catch an indie triumph

Where: Somerset House
'The Summer Series at Somerset House' has been a resounding success since its launch a few years back.
Of the acts on offer this week (Everything Everything, St Germain) we suggest checking out Australian songstress Courtney Barnett.
Her critically acclaimed debut album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit has picked up all manner of buzz over the past few months, and it's worth checking her out now before tickets become elusive.
